It’s very interesting to see myself from aside and how quickly I adapt to things. Same applies to pottery.

When I started to set up my home studio, first I was thinking to get a sink, a clay sink trap that will filter all the clay that goes into the drain and make it right from the beginning. Brrrrr.. felt complicated but it was the only idea I had in mind but there was a catch. I cannot install it myself which means, I need either hire someone to do it or ask my husband to do it. First involves calling people, comparing services and lots of work before I see it coming. The second option is not better – I have to ask (and who knows how long to wait before I will get) my poor husband already have 1001 project on his shoulder partly because of me 😊

So, what was the solution? A big bucket from Home Depot that I fill with water and keep it in the basement. After I am done, I would clean all the tools, wheel etc. Also, about once a month or two when I am ready to change the water – I will wipe the floors with same water. In the beginning, I was not too happy with this idea because I felt like it cannot be that easy and simple but with the time, I found that I love it more and more. Simple, convenient, can do it myself and at no cost! Whenever I use it – it’s a joy. I don’t have to run upstairs to wash my tools every time, I don’t have to bring parts of my wheel to clean it. OMG! This solution saved me so much time and hassles already. I don’t even know if I will ever consider the option of installing the sink in my basement.

For now, I am a happy camper. At least for the winter.
